The Maternity Emergency Course is designed to equip non-midwife practitioners with the knowledge and practical skills needed to manage maternal and neonatal emergencies in remote and isolated settings.

Grounded in a wellness-oriented, woman-centred model of care, the course supports participants in recognising, responding to, and reflecting on both routine and non-routine maternal and neonatal outcomes. Emphasis is placed on improving confidence, collaboration, and clinical decision-making in environments where resources may be limited and timely response is critical. All content is aligned to the National Rural and Remote Nursing Generalist Framework Capabilities.
