VR General Practitioner – Coastal WA Locum or Fixed-Term Role
This is a well-established, GP-led practice located in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. The clinic is supported by a team of experienced GPs, full-time nursing staff, and a dedicated practice manager and administrative team. The practice runs on Best Practice software and delivers care in a well-organised, community-focused setting.
About the Role
As a VR GP, you will:
- Provide exceptional patient care across a broad scope of general practice
- Work alongside 2 experienced GPs in a supportive team environment
- Manage chronic disease, acute care, preventative health, and minor procedures
- Collaborate with full-time nursing and admin support to ensure smooth patient flow
- Participate in a weekend rotation (Saturday mornings only)
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and patient-focused services
Key Features of the Role
- Based in: Goldfields-Esperance Region, WA
- Rate: $180 + GST per hour (percentage negotiable)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:45 pm (1-hour lunch)
- Saturday mornings: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (on rotation with other GPs)
- Practice model: Mixed billing
- Support: Full-time nursing, dedicated practice manager, and admin team
- Software: Best Practice

Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive general practice services to patients of all ages
- Manage acute presentations, chronic disease, and preventative health
- Perform minor procedures and clinical assessments
- Work collaboratively within a multi-GP and nursing team
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and staff
- Contribute positively to the practice culture and local community
Selection Criteria / Essential Requirements
- Vocational Registration as a GP (VRGP)
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Experience in regional or rural general practice desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
