VR General Practitioner – Rural Locum or Fixed-Term Role
This is a well-established, GP-owned mixed billing general practice in the Riverina Region of NSW. The clinic is supported by experienced GPs, full-time nursing staff, and a stable administrative team. The practice uses Genie software and promotes a relaxed, patient- focused approach with 15-minute appointments.
About the Role
As a VR GP, you will:
- Provide exceptional patient care across a broad scope of general practice
- Work alongside a friendly and experienced team of 3 other GPs
- Contribute to chronic disease management, preventative health, acute care, women’s and men’s health, and minor procedures
- Collaborate with full-time nursing and admin support to ensure smooth patient flow
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives as appropriate
- Deliver services Monday to Friday, with no weekend or on-call duties
Key Features of the Role
- Based in: Riverina Region, NSW (under 2 hours from Canberra)
- Rate: $1,800+GST per day or 70% of billings, whichever is greater
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
- Practice model: Mixed billing (15-minute appointments preferred)
- Support: Full-time nursing and administrative support
- Software: Genie software
- Travel & Accommodation:
- Return flights or travel reimbursement
- Car provided for duration
- Accommodation arranged
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive general practice services to patients of all ages
- Manage acute presentations, chronic conditions, and preventative care
- Perform minor procedures and clinical assessments
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, staff, and other clinicians
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment
- Engage with the local community and represent the practice positively
Selection Criteria / Essential Requirements
- Vocational Registration as a GP (VRGP)
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Experience in rural or regional general practice desirable
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
