Judith will be sharing the challenges and rewards in her role as Women’s & Maternal Health Coordinator for Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) – an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation providing preventative, clinical and emergency primary health care in the Northern Territory, South West of Katherine.

The Regional Mens Health Initiative: raising awareness wellbeing

Wheatbelt Mens Health Inc. is a not for profit organisation formed to raise awareness of men’s wellbeing across the whole of regional, rural and remote WA. Since July 2010 WMH has been delivering The Regional Men’s Health Initiative. The Regional Men’s Health Initiative is made up of a team of people who are passionate about raising awareness of men’s health and wellbeing in regional, rural and remote communities throughout Western Australia. They are not a health organisation, rather, they act as a bridge of support and education to men, local communities and health services. They engage with men on their terms and go to where the blokes are.

This presentation by Coralie Cross (credentialled diabetic educator and RN) will speak about the ever changing daily, non-routine of working in rural health!
This will include talking about the distance to unusual locations; meeting interesting and unique characters; being chased by a flock of geese; to the joys and the challenges of clinical practice in a rural role.

Crusted Scabies in the Northern Territory

This webinar will be presented by Meg Scolyer from OneDisease.

One Disease is a non-government, not-for-profit organisation that aims to systematically eliminate Crusted Scabies from Australia using a strategy that combines strong partnerships, proven medical and public health models, and community development principles and practice.

Meg will be talking about what crusted scabies is, preventative measures and what OneDisease is doing to try and eliminate crusted scabies as a public health concern by 2022. OneDiseases overall strategy is to enhance crusted scabies control by combining expertise in disease-specific areas with surveillance, education, capacity
